Set in the capital’s famous 19th-century Tivoli Gardens, Copenhagen’s Christmas market is as much a twinkling light spectacle as a fabulous shopping experience.

Thousands of lights decorate the trees and ice-rink, the stalls are laden with Christmas gifts. Gløgg (spiced mulled wine) and apple doughnuts will keep the chill at bay.

Explore the 70 chalet-style stalls selling all sorts of Danish crafts including knitwear, sheepskin rugs, silver jewelry, hand-painted candles and wooden furniture.

Stay just a short walk from Tivoli Gardens at the Absalon.
