DESIGNED BY SPECIALISTS
Bear in mind, these are just a starting point as all holidays are customised to the specific requirements of our guests. Whether you prefer a different style of accommodation, a greater focus on a particular interest or to go to a different destination all together, every itinerary is created individually around your preferences.
ATACAMA DESERT
Arrive into Santiago international airport, where you will connect onto a short domestic flight to Calama. Calama is the entry-point to Chile’s iconic Atacama Desert. On arrival you will be met by representatives from Awasi Atacama and transferred 1 1/4 hours to the hotel.
In the heart of the oasis town of San Pedro de Atacama is Awasi Atacama. A beautiful hotel built in the style of the traditional adobe buildings which are common in northern Chile. With just 12 private suites and each with their own private guide, service is truly personalised. Unlike other hotels in the area, all activities at Awasi are on a private basis which means you’ll have complete flexibility over what you see and do. On arrival your guide will discuss the different options and together you will come up with a plan for your time in the area. There are a mixture of full-day and half-day excursions to choose from, including a visit to the Valley of Moon and geysers at el Tatio. During full-day activities you can enjoy a delicious picnic lunch, prepared by Awasi’s excellent culinery team. When back at the hotel you can enjoy a spa treatment in your room or relax by the outdoor pool. In the evening enjoy a pisco sour and take in the beautiful night skies on one of Awasi’s stargazing excursions, before a delicious dinner.
Stay: Four nights at Awasi Atacama – including all meals, drinks and private activities and transfers
SANTIAGO
From the Atacama you will fly back to Santiago, spending the afternoon and evening in the Chilean capital.
Santiago is the country’s capital and its bustling heart. Flanked by the Andes, there are a number of excellent museums and galleries to explore. Spend the day wandering the streets of the capital and enjoy local delicacies like Pastel de Choclo.
Your hotel is in the vibrant neighborhood of Providencia and is one of the most luxurious places to stay in the city.
Stay: One night at Le Reve – Bed & breakfast
TORRES DEL PAINE
Board an early morning flight from Santiago to Puerto Natales, where once again you will be met by representatives from Awasi Patagonia.
After a 2 hour journey you will arrive at Awasi Patagonia. A series of standalone cabins dot the hillside and face the mountains of the Torres del Paine National Park. Although outside the park boundaries, the views from the hotel are some of the most impressive of any hotel in Patagonia. Guests can enjoy wonderful views directly from their own private hot tub or from their beautifully appointed cabin. There is a 5* restaurant in the main lodge, preparing delicious and locally sourced Patagonia cuisine, accompanied by some of South America’s best wines.
Over the next three days you will explore the park and its surroundings with your private Awasi guide. Similar to your time in the Atacama, your guide will discuss the options with you, which include hikes, riding, boat trips and photo safaris. You can hike the famous routes through the French Valley or to the Base of the Towers, or see quieter parts of the park.
Stay: Four nights at Awasi Patagonia – including all meals, drinks and privately guided activities and transfers
SANTIAGO
From the wild weather and scenery of Patagonia, you will fly north back to Santiago, for a final night in Chile before crossing the Andes into Argentina.
Stay: One night at Le Reve – Bed & breakfast
BUENOS AIRES
From Santiago you will take a direct flight across the Andes to arguably South America’s most cosmopolitan city, Buenos Aires.
The home of tango, Eva Peron and some of South America’s best restaurants and bars, you will have two full days to explore the vibrant city.
You will be staying at a stylish boutique hotel in the charming neighborhood of Palermo, home to some excellent shops and an array of excellent restaurants. It’s the perfect base to explore the Argentine capital and it’s eclectic suburbs of La Boca, San Telmo and Recoleta.
Stay: Two nights at Legado Mitico – Bed & breakfast
IGUASSU FALLS
Your luxury journey through South America ends at one of its most spectacular attractions – the jaw-dropping waterfalls of Iguassu. A short two hour flight from Buenos Aires and you will arrive into the hot and humid jungle of Iguassu, in north-east Argentina.
On the border between Argentina and Brazil, Iguassu Falls are without doubt one of South America’s star attractions. With your private Awasi guide you’ll have chance to visit both the Argentine and Brazilian side of the Falls, as well as some lesser known areas in the surrounding jungle. Awasi Iguazu is built in the rainforest on the Argentine side of the Falls. Similar in style to Awasi Patagonia, your accommodation is a standalone bungalow, surrounded by nature and with its own private terrace and private plunge pool.
The Argentine side is famous for its walkways and dramatic views from the Devil’s Throat, as well as close-up views of the Falls by boat. The Brazilian side offers tremendous panoramic views, which highlight the sheer number of waterfalls that make up Iguassu. Inside the national park you will see all kinds of wildlife, from toucans and macaws to coatis and black Capuchin monkeys. Away from the national parks, guests of Awasi Iguazu can enjoy some quieter and lesser explored parts of the jungle with their expert guide. Travel through the jungle by 4×4 and spend the afternoon kayaking on one of the many tributaries leading to the Falls with a break for a delicious BBQ on the river bank. For those interested in wildlife, early morning bird watching activities are available but for those wanting to relax at the hotel, the afternoon can be spent with a wine tasting led by Awasi’s award winning sommeliers or relaxing in your villa’s private pool.
